Fixed video analytics is inherently limited by CCTV coverage, camera angles, and predictable camera locations. For an offender deliberately trying to avoid detection, camera positions and blind spots are often easy to identify.
frp®hospitality App adds a mobile layer of video analytics by turning a Google Pixel into an Edge AI checkpoint that moves with the security officer.
The Pixel sits in an upper pocket with its main camera facing outward. The video stream is processed locally on the device while the officer continues a normal patrol without having to monitor the screen.
The concept supports two primary detection models:
Watchlist Detection
- Retail — Persons of Interest (POIs)
- Hospitality — Trespassers, Do-Not-Admit / Do-Not-Rent individuals
Reverse Watchlist Detection
- Critical Infrastructure
- Data Centers
- R&D Facilities
- High-Value Logistics
- Corporate and Institutional Campuses
Retail: Watchlist Detection
For plainclothes LPOs/APOs, the app detects individuals on a Watchlist while the officer moves through the sales floor. When a match occurs, the officer receives a private TTS alert through a Bluetooth earbud.
The LPO/APO checks the Pixel and visually compares the individual with the reference image and profile, providing HITL verification before selecting the appropriate SOP escalation category.
Detection → TTS Alert → HITL Verification → SOP Escalation
The mobile Edge AI checkpoint continuously changes position and viewing angle with the officer, extending video analytics beyond fixed CCTV coverage.
Critical Infrastructure: Reverse Watchlist
In data centers and critical infrastructure environments, Reverse Watchlist detection identifies individuals who cannot be matched to authorized personnel.
The officer receives a private TTS alert, reviews the detection on the Pixel, and determines the appropriate response under the site’s SOP.
Detection Logging & Escalation
Detection events are continuously logged and synchronized through the customer’s own Google Cloud environment.
Following HITL verification, an event can be escalated with a single tap. The person’s profile and associated metadata are sent to the designated response channel via Google Chat (Spaces) or email based on the selected escalation category.
A standard Android smartphone combines:
Camera → Edge AI → Detection → Private TTS Alert → HITL → Escalation
Fixed video analytics remains tied to CCTV coverage. A mobile Edge AI checkpoint moves with the officer.
